Office of The Fire Marshal

• The Fire Marshal’s Office is a division within the West Haven Fire Department. The Office of the Fire Marshal handles numerous responsibilities including public fire safety education, fire code plan review, fire code enforcement, and fire origin and cause investigation.

  Mission Statement:

  The West Haven Fire Services Office of the Fire Marshal shall perform the duties assigned by the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Connecticut State Statute, local policies and procedures and all local ordinances. The goal of the Office of Fire Marshal shall be to be the first line of defense in fire investigation, fire prevention, fire protection and code enforcement to preserve life, property and the safety of firefighters and citizens of our community. These actions shall be accomplished in a fair, consistent manner that includes and reflects the integrity, dignity and professionalism of the fire service.
